CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- University of Virginia fans who did not go to John Paul Jones Arena celebrated the Cavaliers' share of the ACC regular season championship at Wild Wing Cafe on Saturday.
Fans were on edge as both UVA and Louisville exchanged leads throughout the game, but UVA would win 73-68.
This is the second straight year UVA has won at least a share of the regular season championship and the fourth time in the last six years.
UVA fans Josh Claytor and Natalie Turner said they were both proud of UVA's accomplishment.
“They’re one of the best teams in the nation year in and year out since Tony Bennett’s been here," said Claytor. "They win basketball games the right way, they recruit good players and it’s fun basketball to watch."
"It's been really fun to watch them play their hearts out this season and they definitely earned it for sure," said Turner.
Fans were treated to a nice surprise after the game as the team made their way to the restaurant for a team dinner.
The team was greeted with a standing ovation and the players took pictures and talked to their fans.
