Virginia Discovery Museum reopens

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (NEWSPLEX) -- On Saturday morning, the Virginia Discovery Museum on the Downtown Mall opened up its doors for the first time in almost two months.

The museum was closed for renovations. There are now six new exhibits.

"The new exhibits focus on helping kids learn skills they will need when they go to school for the first time," said Janine Dozier, the Executive Director of the museum. "Such as team problem solving, strategic planning, and most importantly, learning to work together and share together."

The grand reopening was celebrated with a party, which featured food and drink for the guests.

"We want families, children, and caregivers from all backgrounds to come together, to learn and play together, and to enjoy having a good time while learning," said Dozier.
