Virginia violinist visits Charlottesville schools to encourage the youth

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (NEWSPLEX) -- A musical YouTube sensation from Virginia taught some kids in Charlottesville how to stay focused and inspired.

Violinist Eric Stanley visited three Charlottesville City schools on Friday. He said he was inspired to play the violin after Charlottesville native Boyd Tinsley visited his school in Richmond years ago.

Right after he played his music for the kids, he spoke to them about the importance of staying on the right track and told them to never get discouraged.

"It's not about the music, or the notes, or how many notes I can play," said Stanley. "It's just so the kids can open up and see their true potential, and just start something cool today."

Stanley's YouTube videos have been viewed millions of times. In March, he will be going on tour.
