CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- The Wild and Scenic Film Festival is marking ten years this year.
Wild Virginia says the film festival began with the South Yoba River Citizen League in California.
This festival is a celebration of the environment that brings together recreation and outdoor enthusiasts, filmmakers, and activists who discover the best in the wild places of the planet.
It highlights environmental concerns and offers solutions while giving attendees a view of some of the wild places in the country.
Local business support plays a big role in the life of this festival, including Rebecca's, Hot Cakes, and Sigora Solar.
This year's films feature Yellow-Legged Frogs, the National Parks, Mexican fishing boats, and more.
The Visulite Cinema in Staunton will host the first day of the festival on April 28.
Violet Crown in Charlottesville will host it on May 1 and then Vinegar Hill plays host on May 2.
