Police remind residents to remove valuable to avoid break-ins

ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- After four car break-ins at the Woodlands Apartment Complex last week, the Albemarle County Police Department is reminding residents to lock their doors and remove valuables.

The cars had computers and cash stolen from inside.

Officers are currently looking into other thefts throughout the county to try and determine any trends.

Captain Darrell Byers recommends that people stick with the 9 p.m. routine of locking their car, locking their doors and removing any valuables for their car.
