(5) UVA tops (9) UNC in Top-10 battle

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 SPORTS) -- Senior Aswin Lizen fought back to win in three sets and help deliver Virginia a top-ten ACC win 4-2 over North Carolina.

The Cavaliers took the doubles point, but the Tar Heels rallied to win on singles' court three and four to take a 2-1 lead. ITA 5th ranked Carl Soderlund then won in straight sets (6-0, 7-5) over 35th ranked Benjamin Sigouin to tie it at 2-2.

Virginia rallied to win 4-2 with wins from 75th ranked Brandon Nakashima (6-3, 4-6, 6-3) and Lizen (4-6, 6-1, 7-6 (7-5).

The victory breaks a tie for second place in the ACC standings with North Carolina. The Cavaliers close the regular season on Sunday against Virginia Tech at 1 p.m. with a pre-match Senior Day ceremony for Lizen and Henrik Wiersholm.
