CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 SPORTS) -- Virginia put three players on the Inside Lacrosse men's preseason All-America team, led by first-team selection Dox Aitken.
The Cavaliers put one player on each of the three preseason All-America teams released by Inside Lacrosse on Monday, with attackman Michael Kraus on the second team and midfielder Ryan Conrad on the third team. Aitken (first team) and Kraus (third team) were both Inside Lacrosse All-Americans after last season; Conrad appeared in only five games last spring because of a knee injury.
Aitken set a new UVA single-season record for midfielders with 51 points in 2018, and his 39 goals last spring are second-most all-time in single season in UVA history. Aitken finished second on the Wahoos behind Kraus in both goals and total points. Kraus finished with 44 goals and a team-high 39 assists, and his 83 points were three shy of the school's single-season record.
Conrad racked up four goals, three assists and 23 ground balls before suffering a season-ending right knee injury in UVA's ACC opener against Syracuse. As a sophomore in 2017, Conrad was an Inside Lacrosse third-team All-American after finishing with 17 goals, 11 assists and a team-high 63 ground balls.
