ST. GEORGE, Va. (CBS19 SPORTS) -- In two seasons at Blue Ridge, Chris Rogers won a state championship, played for another and was named the VISAA Division II state player of the year. On Tuesday, he signed to continue his basketball career.
Rogers will play for Trevecca Nazarene University, a Division II school in Nashville, Tennessee.
"I'm super blessed" Rogers said Tuesday afternoon. "I've been surrounded by so many great coaches and trainers and teammates. People in my life and my parents and my family who really pushed me and had faith in me."
During his senior season, Rogers averaged almost 11 points and five assists per game for the Barons. He shot 38 percent from three-point range, and said playing at Blue Ridge helped him reach the next level.
"There's no place better to be more prepared to be a college basketball player than here at Blue Ridge School," he added. "I'm very thankful for all the stuff that we've done here."
