Caldwell's career day helps lead UVA past Coppin State

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 SPORTS) -- Dual-sport athlete Khyasia Caldwell finishes with a career-high 11 points to help Virginia end three-game losing streak with 55-41 win over Coppin State.

The Cavaliers lead by as much as 18 points in the second half before Coppin State went on an 8-0 run in the fourth to close the gap to 10. Late in the fourth Caldwell stopped the run scoring on a fastbreak layup allowing Virginia to hold on to the victory.

Caldwell, also a long jumper for track and field, went 5-5 from the field and also grabbed a career-high 5 rebounds to go along with two blocks, including one on a second-half three-point attempt.

Virginia was lead by Dominique Toussaint with 14 points and Jocelyn Willoughby with 9 points and a career-high 14 rebounds.

The Cavaliers are back at home on Wednesday to host American at 7 p.m.
