MINNEAPOLIS, Mn. (CBS19 SPORTS) -- Players, coaches and support staff from the Virginia men's basketball team were greeted to a warm reception upon arriving at the Cavaliers' hotel in downtown Minneapolis on Wednesday evening.
UVA is in Minneapolis this weekend for the program's first NCAA Final Four appearance since 1984. A crowd of 70,000 fans will watch the Cavaliers will face Auburn -- a program making its first-ever Final Four appearance -- at 6:09 ET Saturday in the national semifinals at US Bank Stadium.
Texas Tech and Michigan State will meet in Saturday's second semifinal, with the two winners advancing to Monday's national championship game.
All four teams will practice at US Bank Stadium on Thursday and again on Friday, with Friday's workouts open to the public.
This weekend marks the fourth time Minneapolis has hosted a Final Four, and the first since 2001. US Bank Stadium -- home to the NFL's Minnesota Vikings and built on the former site of the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome -- is hosting the event for the first time since the building opened in 2016.
