DURHAM, N.C. (CBS19 SPORTS) -- Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski has not ruled freshman point guard Tre Jones out for Saturday's game against Virginia.
Krzyzewski told The Athletic on Thursday that the shoulder injury Jones suffered early in Monday's overtime loss at home to Syracuse will not keep the guard out long term. It's unlikely Jones will play against the Wahoos, according to the report, but Krzyzewski did not rule him out.
On Tuesday, Duke announced that Jones would be out indefinitely following what was called an AC joint separation in his right shoulder.
Jones is averaging 8.1 points and 5.7 assists per game for the Blue Devils, who will enter Saturday's game at 14-2 and ranked No. 1 in the latest Associated Press national poll. UVA is 16-0 and ranked No. 1 in the latest coaches poll, and fourth by the AP.
