Crofts powers UVA past Furman in NCAA 2nd Round

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 SPORTS) -- Nathaniel Crofts' second-half brace pushes (11) Virginia past Furman 2-0 in the NCAA Second Round.

After a scoreless first half, Crofts broke through in the 78th minute off an assist from Daryl Dike. The go-ahead goal broke a goalless streak for the Cavaliers stretching back nearly a month. Later in the 85th minute Kennedy Nwabia sent a through ball to Crofts to make it 2-0.

Junior Macel DaSilva kept a clean sheet in his first career start for Virginia with starter Colin Shutler out with an injury.

The Cavaliers will face (7) Notre Dame in the NCAA Third Round.
