Five Tom Sox selected to Valley League All-Star Game

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 SPORTS) -- The Valley League South 25-man All-Star roster will include five players from the Tom Sox for this year's All-star game.

The roster includes infielders second baseman Trey McDyre and third baseman Thomas Francisco, as well as outfielder Kirby McMullen and pitchers Joe Sprake and Antonio Balducci. The All-Star game will take place Sunday, July 7th at James Madison's Veterans Memorial Park at 7:30 p.m.

The three Tom Sox position players are all in-season additions, with Francisco joining the team on June 21 from East Carolina. Sprake and Balducci have provided big innings out of the bullpen for the Tom Sox with 19 and 24 strikeouts, respectively.

First baseman Walker Imwalle will also travel to Harrisonburg to represent the Tom Sox in the pre-game home run derby for the first since 2015. Imwalle currently has three home runs on the season.

The South roster will be managed by Waynesboro's Zac Cole as the Generals have the Valley League South's best roster as of Friday, June 28.
