CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 SPORTS) -- Things still look the same to Luke Ford as he walked into John Paul Jones Arena, except now he was on the opposing bench with William & Mary.
"When you walk in you look up you see the stands, I've done that hundreds of times four years ago when I was a manager here," Ford said, who served as a manger for the men's basketball team for four years, "So it always comes back and the same feelings come back."
Ford now serves as the Director of Basketball Operations for the Tribe, a job he says Tony Bennett helped him get. Williamsburg is Ford's second stop since graduating from UVA in 2014 after a brief stint at UMBC.
He is also an Albemarle alum, who has taken notice of other former Patriots turned Wahoos like Austin Katstra and current manager Grant Kersey.
It's great, I've been following Albemarle for awhile since I left just to see how they do," Ford said, "To see Albemarle and what they're doing here now, the amount of effort they put into it and the humility they show, it's awesome to see the success Grant's (Kersey) having right now, I'm really happy for him."
