Generals shut out Tom Sox

WAYNESBORO, Va. (CBS19 Sports) -- The Tom Sox traveled to Waynesboro to face the Generals the night before the Valley League All-Star Game, Charlottesville getting shut out 5-0.

This is the second meeting between the two teams over the past three days.

The Generals got an early jump in the bottom of the 1st inning, with an error at second base at the attempted double play ball. Connor Norby would score.

Waynesboro would score another run the following inning due to a miscue. Wes Clark hit a ball to deep center, and Cayman Richardson could not make the catch. This double from Clark would bring Joseph Kinker home for the Generals, leading 2-0 after the second inning. The Generals would go on to score five runs against the Tom Sox.

The Tom Sox could not get anything going offensively. This would be Charlottesville's first shut-out of the season.

Tomorrow, five members of the Tom Sox will play in the Valley League All-Star Game in Harrisonburg.
