Gillispie comes to terms with Orioles

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 SPORTS) -- Former Miller standout Connor Gillispie officially came to terms with the Baltimore Orioles on Saturday.

The former VCU pitcher was drafted at No. 258 overall in the 8th round of this month's MLB Draft by the Orioles. The news was reported by Jonathan Mayo of MLB.com.


In 50 appearances over the past three seasons at VCU, including 45 starts, Gillispie has a 13-8 record and 2.82 career ERA. He finished 5-3 with a 2.50 ERA in 20 starts this spring, with 118 strikeouts and just 24 walks.
