CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 SPORTS) -- Prior to Thursday night, only two Virginia cornerbacks had ever been named All-Americans. Now that number is three.
UVA junior cornerback Bryce Hall was named a second-team All-American by the Walter Camp Football Foundation on Thursday night. Hall joins Ronde Barber (1994-96) and Chase Minnifield (2011) as UVA corners to make All-America teams. Hall is the first to be named a Walter Camp All-American.
Hall leads the country with 20 pass breakups, and his 22 passes defended ranks second in the nation. He also finished the regular season with 59 tackles, two interceptions and two forced fumbles. He was named first-team All-ACC last month.
Hall is the 13th UVA player all-time to make the Walter Camp All-America team. Safety Quin Blanding and inside linebacker Micah Kiser were both second-team selections last season.
