Hall on another preseason watch list

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 SPORTS) -- Bryce Hall's name showed up on another college football watch list on Monday.

The Virginia cornerback was one of four ACC players on the watch list released Monday for the Jim Thorpe Award, given annually to the best defensive back in college football.

Hall is back with the Wahoos after earning second-team All-America honors as a junior last season. He led the country with 22 pass break-ups, and tied for the national lead with 24 passes defended. Hall also finished with a career-high 62 tackles in 13 games, and added two interceptions and two forced fumbles.

Hall has also been included on the preseason watch lists for both the Bednarik Award and the Lott IMPACT Trophy, and last week he was named a nominee for the 2019 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team.
