GREENSBORO, N.C. (CBS19 SPORTS) -- Virginia's Bryce Hall was the leading vote-getter among defensive players on the preseason All-ACC football team, released Tuesday morning.
Hall received 122 of 173 possible votes in the league's media poll, putting the rising senior in one of the two cornerback positions on the defense.
Hall was a first-team All-ACC cornerback last season, after leading the country with 22 pass break-ups and tying for the lead nationally with 24 passes defended. Hall also finished the year with 62 tackles, two interceptions, two sacks and two forced fumbles.
Hall also earned second-team All-America honors last season from both the Walter Camp Foundation and the Football Writers of America. This summer, he's been included on the preseason watch lists for both the Bednarik Award and the Jim Thorpe Award.
Hall was the only player from the preseason pick to win the Coastal Division to appear on the preseason All-ACC team. UVA quarterback Bryce Perkins did receive six votes for preseason player of the year, finishing fourth behind Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence.
