BLACKSBURG, Va. (CBS19 SPORTS) -- Virginia Tech earned the No. 4 seed in the East Region of the NCAA Tournament and will face No. 13 seed Saint Louis on Friday.
Buzz Williams' team makes their school record third straight tournament appearance. The Hokies and Billikens will meet in San Jose, California where the winner will face the winner of No. 5 seed Mississippi State and No. 12 seed Liberty.
Saint Louis makes their first NCAA Tournament appearance in the last five years after winning the A-10 Tournament Championship. The Hokies are coming off a season where they won the most ACC games in program history since joining in 2004-2005 with 12 wins.
The team also received a big boost on Sunday, when it was announced senior guard Justin Robinson would return from a foot injury that kept him out of the last 12 games. Robinson was averaging 13.7 points and 5.2 assists per game before going down with the injury against Miami.
