'Hoos to travel to Rutgers in Big Ten/ACC Challenge

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 SPORTS) -- Virginia will attempt to snap a six-game losing streak in the ACC-Big Ten Women's Challenge at Rutgers this season, the ACC announced with the challenge schedule release Tuesday.

Tina Thompson's second trip in the challenge will take place Thursday, December 5 against the Scarlet Knights. Thompson is 0-1 in the Challenge, falling 31-66 at Michigan State this past season.

The Cavaliers have not won a challenge game since a 90-58 win at Minnesota in 2012. Overall, the Cavaliers own a 5-7 record in the ACC-Big Ten Challenge. Virginia won five of its first six Challenge games.

The ACC has never lost an ACC-Big Ten Challenge, leading the 13 year series 9-0-3.

Virginia is 7-5 all-time against Rutgers, losing to the Scarlet Knights in the last meeting 52-43 in December 2017.
