'Hoos will play seven non-conference games at JPJ

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 SPORTS) -- On November 10, the reigning NCAA men's basketball champions will take the floor on their home court for the first time since winning that title.

Virginia rolled out its full non-conference men's basketball schedule on Wednesday afternoon. Seven of UVA's 10 non-conference games will be played at John Paul Jones Arena, starting with a visit from James Madison on November 10.

That JMU game will start a three-game homestand that also includes visits from Columbia (November 16) and Vermont (November 19), with both of those games part of the Air Force Reserve Tip-Off Tournament.

That tournament will then take the Wahoos to Connecticut for games against Massachusetts on November 23, and against either Arizona State or St. John's the next day.

The Wahoos will return home to host Maine on November 27 -- the day before Thanksgiving -- and then travel to Purdue a week later for this season's B1G/ACC Challenge. UVA will wrap up its non-conference schedule with three more games at home, against Stony Brook (December 18), South Carolina (December 22) and Navy (December 29).

The ACC had previously announced that UVA would open the season at Syracuse on November 6, and also play an unnamed conference opponent at JPJ on December 7, before the team takes its annual final exams break. The rest of the Cavaliers' ACC schedule will be released later this summer.
