Lack of experience vs. 'Hoos pushing Hokies

BLACKSBURG, Va. (CBS19 SPORTS) -- Senior defensive lineman Ricky Walker wore a smile through Monday's weekly press conference, saying he is always more excited to play Virginia.

"Me personally, this game is my favorite game of the year," Walker said.

Walker has seen the Hokies win the last four games against the Cavaliers, a streak that sits at 14 straight wins for Virginia Tech against their rivals.

"It's nothing like playing against those guys up the road. No matter what, they always think that they're better than us and we just keep on winning and dominating."

Virginia Tech is a five point home underdog against Virginia this season, sitting at 4-6 entering Friday's contest.

A quick look at the Hokies depth chart entering the game, and you see a lot of FR's and SO's. In total, there are 37 players on Virginia Tech's two deep depth chart that are sophomores or freshmen.

"We've got a lot of guys on this team that have not played in this game before," head coach Justin Fuente said. "We'll take some time today to continue to educate them on the rivalry and what it means to play in a game like this."

"I hope," Walker added, "guys are ready to practice and prepare and play in this game."

Its a 3:30 kickoff Friday at Lane Stadium
