CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 SPORTS) -- Andie Aldave scored for Notre Dame with 1:30 left to give the Irish a 10-9 win over Virginia Saturday afternoon.
Trailing by two at the half, Virginia opened the second half on a 6-1 run to take a 8-5 lead with 14:29 remaining. Notre Dame scored five of the final six goals to take the win.
Sammy Mueller scored four goals to lead the Cavaliers. Maggie Jackson added two goals with a team-high three assists.
Aldave finished with a hat trick for the Irish.
With the loss the Cavaliers (7-3) fell to 0-3 in ACC play, their worst conference start since the 2016 team started 0-3. That team followed up the third ACC loss with a win against James Madison. The Cavaliers next travel to the Dukes on Wednesday.
