CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 SPORTS) -- Maryland scored the first six goals of the game and never looked back, topping Virginia 16-6 Wednesday night.
Caroline Steele and Brindi Griffin each scored four goals for the Terrapins. Nora Bowen and Avery Shoemaker both scored twice for Virginia.
With Maryland leading 6-0, Lillie Kloak scored to put the Cavaliers on the board. The Terrapins scored the next five goals to boast a 10 goal lead for the first time.
The Cavaliers closed the first half scoring three straight goals and added another to open the second for a 4-0 run that brought it to a six goal deficit.
It was the 14th straight win in the series for Maryland. Virginia has not beaten the Terrapins since 2008.
