Mueller's career day leads 'Hoos to win

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 SPORTS) -- Sammy Mueller scored six goals and added two assists for a career-high eight points as Virginia beat Louisville 16-12 Saturday afternoon.

Maggie Jackson added two goals and four assists while Nora Bowen added a hat trick in the win. Lillie Kloak added two goals for Virginia.

The Cavaliers scored four of the first five goals before Louisville cut it to a one goal game with 15 minutes left in the first half. Mueller scored three goals in a 5-0 Virginia run in 5:27 to give the Cavaliers a 9-3 lead.

The Cardinals responded with a 4-0 run of their own spanning the halftime, but did not allow Louisville to get closer than three in the second half to close out the win.

Virginia closes the regular season on April 21 when Virginia Tech comes to town.
