Richmond WR Brissett says he'll transfer to UVA

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 SPORTS) -- Bronco Mendenhall mentioned last week that the Virginia football program may soon add a few graduate transfers at wide receiver. On Monday, one of those players announced his intention to join the Wahoos.

In a post on Instagram on Monday, former Richmond receiver Dejon Brissett said he will play his final college season at UVA. Brissett was All-CAA for the Spiders in 2017, but missed most of last year with an injury.

Listed at 6-2 and 195 pounds on the Richmond website, Brissett brings more size to the wide receiver position at UVA. Brissett caught 63 passes for 896 yards and seven touchdowns to earn All-CAA first-team honors at Richmond in 2017.

He caught 16 passes for 304 yards in Richmond's first three games last year -- including three catches in the season opener at UVA, and a 178-yard performance against Fordham -- before missing the remainder of the season with an ankle fracture.
