BLACKSBURG, Va. (CBS19 SPORTS) -- Fans will get a look at Virginia Tech football for the first time since the Military Bowl loss Saturday at Lane Stadium. The annual spring game is set for a 100 play afternoon.
It will be the fourth spring game for head coach Justin Fuente. He's breaking in players all over the field, particularly on defense.
"They've done well," Fuente said. "Getting all of our guys out there to go compete against each other on both sides of the ball is huge. It's important for our corner position that Damon Hazelton practice. That they go against Damon, against Tre."
With players on the offensive side of the ball practicing this spring against the young defense, its allowed players like Dax Hollifield a chance to get better.
"It's just starting to click," Hollidfield said. "Like everybody's playing as a whole. You just gotta eliminate mistakes. It's all about consistency."
Its set for a 4:00 start on Saturday.
