CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 SPORTS) -- Ever since Abby Faust picked up a volleyball her talents could not be confined to just one skill.
"I was never taught to be your a hitter that's all you are, just a hitter, your a passer that's it," Faust, a senior volleyball player at Charlottesville said, "I think it helped me feel like I could do anything in terms of this sport."
It's no surprise to her coach then that Faust is filling up the stat book for Charlottesville.
"It you were to look at our stats for digs, for aces, for kills," Charlottesville volleyball Coach Calie Garrett said, "She's consistently got the most in each game."
But over her four years at CHS, Faust has seen a different volleyball coach each year.
"Every single year," Garrett said, "So different expectations, different team management, different conflict management, different leadership style."
Making it even more crucial for Faust to develop as a leader for her teammates.
"For me I think that definitely made me more of a leader on the team and just in general because it made me more willing to voice my opinions," Faust said.
"She's somebody who will tell you what she thinks and she always has really good insight for the players as a whole," Garrett said of Faust.
Abby is not just a vocal leader though, sometimes just letting her actions on and off the court do the talking.
"Especially in practice what I see from her is she's always pushing herself, always pushing other people, she wants to work hard" Garrett said, "She's hard on herself because she wants to play well."
"I don't quit, regardless of how we're playing I don't give up," Faust said, "I will push and play as hard as I can every game."
And no matter in the classroom or on the court, Abby sets one goal for herself.
"I'm here to get as good as I can get and that's definitely one of my goals that I set pretty high," Faust said.
