Tom Sox force the rubber match with extra inning win

STAUNTON, Va. (CBS19 Sports) -- The Tom Sox traveled to Staunton for game 2 of the South Division Championships, looking to keep their playoff hopes alive.

Starting in the top of the 1st inning, the Tom Sox bats were hot. A three-run inning thanks to RBIs from Trey McDyre, Dan Harwood and Alex Fedje-Johnson, put the 'Sox up early.

In the 2nd inning, the Braves would tie it back up 3-3, with a three-run blast over the center field wall.

The two teams would go back and forth for much of the game, thanks to another home run for the Braves and a pair of runs walked in for the Tom Sox. They would conclude the nine innings tied 7-7.

In the top of the 10th, the Tom Sox were able to put this game away. An RBI double from Trey McDyre and another run walked in put two more runs on the board for the Tom Sox, for a final score of 9-7.

With this win, the Tom Sox force the rubber match to be played Monday night at 7:00 p.m. in Charlottesville. The winner of this game will go on to the championship series against the Strasburg Express.
