CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 SPORTS) -- Former Orange County High School right-hander Bradley Hanner could get a shot at a pro baseball career from the Minnesota Twins.
The Twins took Hanner -- a first-team all-state selection as a senior at Orange County in 2017 -- with the No. 629 overall pick in Round 21 of the MLB Draft on Wednesday afternoon.
Hanner had spent the past two seasons pitching at Patrick Henry Community College in Martinsville, making him eligible for this year's draft. He went 7-4 with a 3.03 ERA for the Patriots this season, with 107 strikeouts in 71 1/3 innings pitched.
Hanner is signed to pitch at Young Harris College in Georgia next season, if he chooses not to sign professionally with the Twins.
