CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 SPORTS) -- Nic Kent reached base five times and drove in a career-high four runs to lead Virginia past Norfolk State 14-4 Wednesday night.
Every starter reached base at least once with seven scoring a run. Tanner Morris and Devin Ortiz scored three runs apiece.
The Cavaliers trailed for just a half inning after Norfolk State scored in the top of the first on a Stephen Baughan ground-ruled RBI double. Ortiz scored Morris with a sacrifice fly to tie it 1-1 after one.
Virginia scored two in the second and three in the third, highlighted by an Alex Tappen RBI double to score Ortiz. Tappen drove in three runs and scored two of his own on a 3-4 performance.
The win was the fourth straight for Virginia and opened a 10-game homestand. Miami comes to Disharoon Park starting Friday.
