CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 SPORTS) -- For the first time since 2012, Virginia men's lacrosse picked up a seventh consecutive win, beating Utah 17-6 Sunday afternoon.
The Cavaliers (8-2) scored the first nine goals of the game, not allowing a Utah goal until 2:35 remained in the first half and lead 13-2 at halftime.
The win streak is the longest for the Cavaliers since the 2012 team opened the season 8-0.
Ian Laviano scored four goals to lead the Cavaliers. Matt Morre and Michael Kraus both had hat tricks as well. Kraus scored the opening goal of the game just 1:57 in for what was his 100th career goal, the 16th player in Virginia history to reach the milestone.
Mikey Herring scored two goals for the Wahoos. Dox Aitken, Ryan Conrad, Xander Dickson and Ryan Lamb all added one goal in the win.
Utah scored four goals in the fourth quarter to cut the deficit while the Cavaliers were held scoreless.
