CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 SPORTS) -- Virginia rolled past Marist 22-6 on Saturday scoring 20 or more goals for the second straight for the first time since 2006.
The game saw 13 Cavaliers score at least one point with six players scoring multiple goals. Virginia trailed in the game for only three minutes early in the first quarter before Jack Peele scored to tie it at 1-1. The Wahoos would go on runs of 5-0 in the first half and 8-0 in the second half to close out the game.
Virginia was led by Jack Peele with a career-high four goals and Dox Aitken with four goals and two assists, tying him for second all-time in career points by a midfielder.
The Wahoos will the No. 1 seed in next week's ACC Tournament in Chapel Hill. UVA will play the winner of Syracuse and North Carolina on Saturday at 2 p.m. If Virginia wins, the ACC Tournament Championship would be played at Klöckner Stadium on May 4th.
