CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 SPORTS) -- The Virginia women's tennis team continued its dominant run over rival Virginia Tech with a 6-1 win over the Hokies Sunday. It was the 24th consecutive win over Virginia Tech, dating to 1999.
Things started tight in doubles. Tied 1-1 and playing coming to court three, the team of Hunter Bleser and Meghan Kelley held on for a 7-5 win to give the Cavaliers the early 1-0 lead.
From there, the Cavaliers rolled in singles. Bleser started things with a 6-1, 6-4 win on court six. Kelley followed with a straight set win on court one. Vivian Glozman and Chloe Gullickson both rolled to straight set wins on courts two and three.
After Sofia Munera dropped her singles match on court five in three sets, Amber O’Dell closed out the win with a come from behind, 5-7, 6-0, 7-5 win on court four for the final point.
