Wahoos drop season-opener at Loyola

BALTIMORE, Md. (CBS19 SPORTS) -- In the same place last season ended, this Virginia men's lacrosse season opened with the same result. The Cavaliers lost at Loyola 17-9 Saturday afternoon.

Loyola's Pat Spencer and Kevin Lindley both scored five goals while Greyhounds goalie Jacob Stover stopped 18 Virginia shots.

The Cavaliers Dox Aitken scored 48 seconds into the game to give the Cavaliers the lead, but Loyola scored the next three goals to take a lead it would never relinquish.

Aitken and Matt Moore both scored three goals to lead the Cavaliers.
