CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 SPORTS) -- Avery Shoemaker matched her jersey number -- and her career high -- with six goals on Wednesday afternoon at Klöckner Stadium, as No. 6 Virginia bounced back from its first loss by rolling past George Mason 20-9 in women's lacrosse.

The two teams traded goals in the final minute of the half to give UVA a 12-6 lead at the break. Mason managed just a pair of goals in the second half, as the Cavaliers continued to pull away.
Six different UVA players scored goals, including hat tricks from Taylor Regan and Lillie Kloak, and two apiece from Courtlynne Caskin, Nora Bowen and Ashlyn McGovern. Sammy Mueller set a new career high with five assists for the Wahoos, while Charlie Campbell finished with seven saves in net.
The Patriots got three goals apiece from Chachi Kelehan and Hailey Johnson.
