Wahoos headed back to South Carolina

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 SPORTS) -- Virginia's season ended with a second-round loss to South Carolina in last year's NCAA women's tennis tournament. Now the Wahoos are headed back to Columbia.

UVA and the Gamecocks are again in the same four-team bracket for the opening weekend of NCAA Tournament play, with South Carolina hosting as the No. 4 national seed. The Wahoos will face Old Dominion in the first round on Friday, while South Carolina will face North Florida.

Virginia went 17-8 during the regular season, including a 4-2 loss to Duke in the quarterfinals of the ACC tournament.

The Cavaliers are back in the NCAA bracket for the 10th time in 11 seasons. They've advanced to at least the second round in each of those appearances.
