Wahoos put up 24 goals, roll past VMI

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 SPORTS) -- No. 6 Virginia scored on its first seven shots and finished with its highest goal total in more than a decade on Tuesday night against VMI.

The Wahoos rolled to a 24-5 victory, leading 11-0 within the game's first 10 minutes, 14-1 after the first quarter and 22-3 at halftime. UVA's 24 goals are the most for the program since beating VMI by the same 24-5 final score in 2008.

Dox Aitken scored twice in the game's first two minutes to become UVA's all-time leader in goals by a midfielder, with 95. Xander Dickson led the Wahoos with a career-high seven goals, while Ian Laviano and Matt Moore finished with three apiece. Ryan Conrad and Mikey Herring both added a goal and three assists.
