Weather forces Wahoos to postpone Miami opener

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 SPORTS) -- Friday's steady rain is forcing the Virginia baseball team to add another weekend double-header to the schedule.

The Cavaliers and Miami have been forced to postpone the opener of their critical three-game Coastal Division series at Disharoon Park. The teams will now play a double-header on Saturday, with first pitch set for noon.

UVA enters the weekend tied with North Carolina for second place in the Coastal Division at 8-7 in ACC play. Miami is a game back in third place at 7-8.

Saturday will mark the fifth time the weather has forced the Wahoos to play a double-header this season. UVA has swept two of those previous twin bills -- against Villanova back in February, and at Notre Dame last Saturday. The Cavaliers split a double-header with Seton Hall in early March, and got swept at Duke a week later.
