CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (NEWSPLEX) -- Former STAB baseball player Brian Yeagle was named the new varsity baseball coach Tuesday.
Yeagle led the Saints to the 2011 VISAA state championship, the same year he was named to the Virginia All-Prep League First Team.
This year won't be Yeagle's first in the dugout. He served as an assistant coach with the Saints in 2013.
He says to be the skipper at a place he grew up is a great opportunity for him.
"Its great coming back to St. Anne's, growing up here and being a part of the boarding program," Yeagle said. "Coming back on to campus and being back in this community is awesome. Especially when you've got baseball to be there and help kids grow and stuff. Its a great opportunity."
He's most excited to be able to pass the game on to young players.
"Baseball's always been a big part of my life and especially STAB baseball the past 10 years of my life," he said. "Coming back here is pretty special to be able to find something you know you'll be doing a while and something you're happy with. Given this opportunity and being able to effect people's lives and young students is going to be pretty awesome."
