(AP) - A company that makes a brand of hummus and vegetable dips plans to open a manufacturing plant in Chesterfield County, creating about 260 jobs beginning in mid-2010.
New York-based Sabra makes a range of refrigerated dips and spreads. All the products are certified kosher and vegetarian. Sabra was formed as a U.S. and Canadian joint venture between Strauss Group and PepsiCo.
Gov. Tim Kaine said Virginia competed against two other states for the Sabra Dipping Company project. Kaine approved a $350,000 grant from the Governor's Opportunity Fund for the project.
