Raymond Joseph, Haiti's ambassador to the United States, will attend a special service at Ebenezer Baptist Church on Sunday, Jan. 24.
The service will begin at the church, located at 113 Sixth St. NW, at 11 a.m. A press conference and reception will occur after the service.
Community groups are invited to attend and share the work they have done in support of Haiti.
"We're a global human family, and whenever there is tragedy anywhere in the world, then it should touch us. And we should feel a sense of responsibility," said Rev. Lehman Bates, pastor of Ebenezer Baptist.
The church has been working with the embassy to gather and ship approximately $10,000 worth of medical and other supplies to help in the aftermath of the earthquakes.
Organizations interested in making presentations of one minute or less describing their efforts can call the church office at 434-296-7158.
