Fresh laundry. It's something local people living in poverty will have better access to starting now.

Belmont Baptist Church in Charlottesville says they want to give the community access to something that is practical. With guidance from the religious organization, Love INC, they came up with "Loads of Love."

"They'll come here and be given an appointment," said Reverend Greg Anderson of Belmont Baptist Church," They'll come and be greeted by several church members that will be here to assist them and to help them, to serve them with doing their laundry."

Signing up through Love INC, people will have access to brand new washers and dryers, detergent and other supplies, a kitchen and a place for children to play.

Charlottesville Mayor Dave Norris helped with the grand opening.

"It's going to mean a lot to families who are having to watch every single penny and having to fore go some of the basics that we all take for granted," Norris explained.

Belmont Baptist Church members say, they hope people can take the money they would have spent on laundry and use it on other necessities.

"For those who are on a tight budget, and for those who are struggling to make ends meet," said Anderson. "That's probably 20 dollars a week that they would be able to use toward food or prescriptions."

Another benefit to the laundry center, the Central Virginia Baptist Clothing Center is located in the same building right behind Belmont Baptist Church.
