CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (NEWSPLEX) -- Foothills Child Advocacy Center is celebrating ten years of service by hosting a Family Fun Day on Saturday.

The event, which is also marking National Child Abuse Prevention Month, will take place at the IX Art Park from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Foothills says the event will give families a venue to learn more about the best ways to keep kids safe.

It will feature a Safety Tips Scavenger Hunt that will teach about keeping children and families safe.

There will be crafts, dancing, martial arts demonstrations, basketball shooting practice and a petting zoo among other activities.

Since April of 2006, Foothills has partnered with more than a dozen local agencies to help more than 1,700 children.

The organization's goals are to minimize trauma for child victims, promote healing and ensure child safety.
