Charlottesville residents celebrated their diverse community with a festival of cultures.

Despite the rain, people from over 25 different nationalities represented their cultures at Lee Park on Saturday.

There were people from all over the globe like Peru, Afghanistan, and India.

The coordinator of the festival says that this is an opportunity for people to learn about different types of cultures in Charlottesville.

“It's also an opportunity for newer residents of our community who have come a long way to live here, to feel welcomed and to feel that what they have to offer is valued, appreciated and seen here in Charlottesville,” says Zakira Beasley.

This is the 11th year for the festival.
