CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (NEWSPLEX) -- The housing and apartment finder website released a list of the best communities in the nation to live in, and a local community made the list.

The neighborhood of Locust Grove, located northeast of Charlottesville's Downtown Mall, was voted the best community under one million people to live in.

According to the article, which is linked alongside this article, Locust Grove was highly rated due to its low traffic volume, easy access to both entertainment and business related locations, and the large amount of green land that surrounds it.

Those who live in the neighborhood say they agree with the website.

"It's very quiet," said David Cole, a resident of the community. "The only noise you hear comes from the Charlottesville bus that passes through."

"I mean it feels like Americana," said Robin Smith, a resident of the community. "It has families, working professionals, and it just seems like it's a catch all for [everyone]."

Smith also says that a big part of this community being so great is the kind neighbors.

"You can knock on the door for sugar, and it's not a scary thing," said Smith. "That's a very rare thing today, I think, to have that sort of familiarity with each other."

"it's beautiful," said Cole. "I mean you look around and you see all these red buds and cherry trees."

The Locust Grove Neighborhood Association says it was honored to receive the title, and looks forward to building an even bigger and better community in the future.
