ALBEMARLE COUNTY, VA (NEWSPLEX) -- Area citizens interested in learning about how to handle an active shooter situation will be able to do so Feb. 22.
The Charlottesville-UVA-Albemarle County Office of Emergency Management and the Albemarle County Police Department will hold a Run, Hide, Fight Active Shooter Response session at the Albemarle County Office Building.
The training will teach citizens on the run, hide, fight concepts and how to respond to and protect themselves if they are involved in an active shooter situation.
They will learn how to recognize potential workplace violence indicators, what actions can be taken to prevent and prepare for potential active shooter incidents, and how to react to an incident.
The free training will take place between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m..
