Search crews returned to Carter Mountain Orchard in Albemarle County Wednesday morning, where they hope to find a woman who hasn't been seen since early Saturday.

Crews and volunteers have been scouring the mountain all morning, re-canvassing all probable areas for Bonnie Santiago's whereabouts.

Fifty volunteers, about half a dozen police, four tracking dogs and four horses have been up and down the area. They have been combing through thick vegetation and triple searching for any signs of Santiago.

Dive teams have been called to search two ponds on the mountain as well.

A K-9 was sent out with a fresh scent, hoping to track Santiago. Police says at least one dog has not picked up anything.

Members of Bonnie Santiago's family have been sitting up on the mountain, praying and hoping for news.

The close knit family says this ordeal has been surreal, and Bonnie is a fun and happy person who they want to come home.

"I've never known her to wander off," says Barbara Simpson, Santiago's sister. "She's always close to her family or her kids. If she didn't contact her kids, then there is something wrong with her."

Police say their goal is by the end of the day to have either found Bonnie Santiago, or to have rules out all of the possible areas she could be here on the mountain before expanding their search.

Anyone with information is asked to call crime stoppers at 434-977-400.
