WASHINGTON, D.C. (NEWSPLEX) -- Chris Long's first stop on his free agency tour will be with the Washington Redskins, according to a report by The Washington Post.
The 31-year-old Long will visit with the Redskins on Tuesday, The Post reported on Monday. Long was cut by the Los Angeles Rams last month, after eight seasons with the franchise.
Long starred at St. Anne's-Belfield school in Charlottesville before a four-year college career at UVA, highlighted by an All-American senior season in 2007. The Rams took Long with the second overall pick in the 2008 NFL Draft.
Long spent his entire eight-year career with the Rams, who were based in St. Louis until moving to Los Angeles this off-season. Long didn't miss a game in his first six NFL seasons, but has missed 14 the past two years because of various injuries.
Long has 54 1/2 career sacks in 114 NFL games.
